The original Foundation of Made in Grimsby & Cleethorpes, the Business Directory was launched in May 2020, whilst everyone in the UK was locked down, in the midst of the COVID pandemic. The intention was to bridge the large gap between small business owners who were struggling to make ends meet, whilst being physically “closed”, and the customers who desperately wanted to support them, but didn’t know where to find them.

The directory supported small businesses across Grimsby and Cleethorpes, alongside our social media accounts, by helping them to reach a wider audience that they couldn’t reach on their own.

In June 2024, I have made the decision to close the directory. Whilst it served as an amazing tool to build the gap between small independent businesses and shoppers across North East Lincolnshire during lockdown and the time that followed; the towns have evolved and so have the needs of small businesses.

As a C.I.C., the business has evolved to other ways of helping businesses.
