This month I’ve been talking to the host of our very first Networking Workshop (taking place in September)…Leah of Sew Mini Memories.
Leah has been the owner of Sew Mini Memories since January 2012, so I think it’s fair to say she’s a bit of a pro!!
WHAT DO YOU DO?
“I mainly make memory/keepsake quilts, bears, cushions, lions, etc from clothing. I also make baby leggings and rompers, bags, purses, and keyrings. More recently I have started to run sewing workshops too.”
WHAT IS YOUR WHY?
“I’ve always enjoyed sewing, since being young when my mum would let me use her machine and she’d teach me how to make little projects. After my daughter was born in 2011, I made a quilt from her baby clothes and everything just spiralled from there. I love planning and creating unique keepsakes that enable people to keep their memories alive, with items that can be passed down through generations of their family. I’m also now enjoying teaching others to sew their own memory bears and hope to expand on the workshops I can offer too.”

“Everything I make is unique to the customer and the clothing they provide, with each item being carefully planned out and sewn with care.”
